Weed Installation Guide

Please read this entire guide before unpacking or handling the sculpture.

  • Installation requires one person

  • Handle with care at all times

Required Tools

Required

  • Gloves

  • Soft foam or padded surface

  • Screwdriver

May Be Needed

  • Oscillating multi-tool

Unpacking

  1. Remove the top layer of foam and carefully remove the packing peanuts from the box.

  2. If the Weed sculpture is screwed to the base, there will be a note inside the box alerting you.

  3. Once the packing peanuts are removed, locate the two screws and remove them using a screwdriver only.

    • Do not use a drill.

  1. Grasp the sculpture by its center mass and carefully lift it out of the box.

  2. Keep all foam and packing materials for future de-installation.

    • Never place the sculpture directly on an unpadded surface.

If the sculpture is not screwed down:

  • Simply lift the Weed sculpture out of the box and place it on a padded surface.

Installation

  • Every Weed sculpture includes a metal base plate.

  • Base plate size varies by sculpture but is typically no more than 3/32 inch thick.

  • The sculpture must be installed on the floor.

Placement Options

The base plate must fit into a narrow gap at the floor line. This can be:

  1. A gap between the floor and the bottom of the wall, or

  2. A gap created by installing a baseboard

If installing a baseboard:

  • The gap between the baseboard and the floor should be 1/8 inch

  • The baseboard should run the full length of the wall

  • The style should match the existing room design

If no existing gap is available and a baseboard is not installed:

  • A slot must be created to accommodate the specific base plate

  • After installation, the slot should be patched to maintain a consistent wall/floor seam

Making a Slot (If Needed)

  • We recommend using an oscillating multi-tool with an oscillating plug saw blade.

  • This allows a slot to be cut flush with the floor and beneath the baseboard.

  • Once the slot is created:

    1. Test-fit the sculpture

    2. Patch surrounding baseboard areas as needed to minimize excess openings

  • Final Placement

    • Slide the base plate of the Weed sculpture into the slot or gap.

    • Push the sculpture fully back so no part of the base plate is visible beyond the wall.

    • This is critical.

      • If any portion of the plate is visible, the opening must be widened using the multi-tool.
